Ok. More about peoples' relationships to trees. Sacred this, vandalized that. Boring. The pictures were sort of interesting, but I'd call very few of them beautiful. I'm always dismayed by books about preserving the environment printed on heavy new paper, too....

lovely photos (with accompanying text) of some very old (and perhaps lesser known) trees from a variety of places around the globe. No Giant sequoias here, but the twisty bristlecone pines from Inyo Natl Forest and from Colorado make an appearance, and lots of historic and culturally significant sites get deserved attention.

If you are looking for photos of magnificent trees, this is a good place to start.
