Now I want pizza... and some hot firefighters

I love Cassie Cole’s reverse harem books; they are always super-hot and heartwarming. This one did not disappoint. Hot firemen, surprise baby, and lots of Clara to go around. The coming together moment felt natural as did the progression into polyamory. Very steamy and lots of fun to read. Does focus on childhood abandonment and the foster care system so beware if you may that triggering.

Rose is a professional gambler. She has always been lucky. Always wins. She goes to the casino daily and does her Sportsbook bets. Her friend Danny, who she met at the casino, has been after her to go out for a while. He invites her to go to a speed date event where she meets Vic, a bouncer at a casino. Sparks flair with him. When she goes back to the casino, she thinks she sees Roman, her crush from high school. Then her luck changes and she starts losing. What is she to do? She decides a show more change of scenery might help so she goes out with Danny. When she does, she notices that her bets start hitting again. Then she goes with Vic, same thing happens. When she hooks up with Roman, will the same thing happen?

I enjoyed this story. I liked Rose. She is a controlled gambler, betting only so much per game and she stays with sports. But when she decides to try her luck on her date with Danny, she gets scary and out of control. I understood Danny's anger and upset. This was clearly not the girl he knew, or we are coming to know. Then when the Super Bowl happens, and she gets the tingle up her spine, and all the guys are with her, I was unnerved and afraid of her and how it would affect her relationships. When she realizes what she has done with the men, she leaves but the casino gets involved. It was scary. Thank heavens for Danny butting his nose where it did not belong and Vic's job. It all could have ended badly for Rose.

Fortunately, it did not end for Rose or Danny or Vic or Roman. I got what I wanted and was satisfied. This is a cautionary tale though.

Paige and 3 friends are supposed to meet in Whistler, BC for 5 months of skiing and renewing friendships, but 2 bale and the third drops out at the last minute and cancels the lodging. Paige finds out on route and that her condo has been re-rented. Then hooks up with the 3 guys who rented the place and the whole trip changes. The premise of this story was just so way off – 4 girls leaving college for five months of skiing with no money concerns, just to have a good time. I almost stopped show more reading there. But I decided to see how they made the story work. It got better with backstory for each of the guys and Paige making it all more believable. The reverse harem theme is what it is and it was hot in places and humorous in other. I just like to have a decent story framework as well. show less
I received a free advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

So, we'll put aside the fact that, as a woman running for president, there would be no way she'd be able to keep the sexiness that abounds with these three men a secret. It just wouldn't happen.

Leaving that, we've got a lightly suspenseful and very, very steamy story that follows Elizabeth, a senator with tall political aspirations and a - very false - proper image to uphold, and three gorgeous and deeply show more protective men who all find themselves in the position of needing to keep her from harm. Let the fun begin.

This was a quick standalone read that I finished in one day, and while I saw the plot's conclusion long before getting there, it was still an enjoyable ride. I liked how the author wove the introductions of each man to our main gal, and the fact that most of the book was kept to the theme of secrecy - even from each other - made it all that much more of a steamy read.
