I received a free ARC in exchange for an honest review of the book.

I enjoyed the book and its broken characters. Each of them is a different paranormal, each broken in their way and desperately looking to find resolve in our reluctant witch lead. Though the coupling...er, joining, really, of our characters is predictable, such is the genre itself. But so long as you don't go in expecting the most earth-shattering of fantasy reads, it's an entertaining story.

Our lead has a deep connection show more with Mother Nature, far surpassing that in other witches. Though we're told this often, we don't yet know why. This bridge has cost Sophie everything she cares for, until she stumbles the various men who appear to be trouble at the onset and grow more tolerant, then downright necessary, as our story progresses.

This is the first book in a series, and while it doesn't end on a cliffhanger, it doesn't resolve the overall story either. Looking forward to the next.

I received a free advanced copy of this book from Booksprouts in exchange for a fair and honest review.

"Home isn't just a place, it's the people you're with. And for the first time in years, I've found my people."

This was a mostly satisfying conclusion to the Twin Rivers Captive trilogy, though I found myself screaming at the naivety of certain characters with fifteen minutes to go. The twist (and it's lead-up) was rather obvious, which is why I found it so frustrating that it was utterly show more disregarded by someone in particular.

That aside, as I chose to reread the first two books just prior to delving into the final one, I'll say it held true to the overall story. It's filled with heartbreak, happy reunions, self-discovery and the desire to accomplish what's right. Added to all of that is the same amount of sexiness we've come to expect from all of September Stone's books. I enjoyed the extra glimpse at our friend Sophie and her men, though I will admit that I wish there had been more of a crossover between those two worlds, as Soph would've been a great mentor to Bryn, maybe not in experience, but in helping her learn about her abilities and limitations.

Definitely a worthy read, especially if you've read the previous books (which I would definitely recommend prior to picking this one up).

Sometimes, I find that the second book in a series fizzles out after any excitement built from the first. That wasn't at all the case here. While many of the relationships had a predictable path, I was a tangle of nerves throughout most of the book as our characters set out to complete Mother Nature's mission, faced unexpected odds, and ultimately found themselves at the mercy of some very interesting twists.

Much like the first book, while the main action of the story comes to a partial show more conclusion by book's end, this is clearly part of an overall series and won't be seen as altogether satisfying for some. Especially with an ending that has me waiting rather anxiously for the next edition.

Like the other Twin Rivers books by September Stone, I found this to be another fun, sexy read. Our group is headed off in search of the staff Elowen requires as payment to lift the curse that binds them, and in their quest, Bryn has to come to grips with the fact that she's begun feeling a pull to Poe and Silas alongside her favorite two men. The struggle of emotions, the hesitation some of them feel at falling for a woman who isn't solely theirs, and the ever-present threat of death that show more hangs above them makes for a read that you can't put down. I like how Stone does a good job at giving depth to her characters, making it easy to see how our lead is so drawn to each of the guys. Everyone is flawed, in a way that allows them all to balance each other.

It's an entertaining story, and I like how it links to the previous trilogy (though it's not necessary to read the other series, they do all flow nicely together). While there isn't a huge cliffhanger at the end, there is a larger game at play that is left unsolved, obviously leading to the next book. Definitely looking forward to what comes next.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
