A high energy, enthusiastic read perfect for when Grandma comes to babysit! The baby is gender neutral and the bright pink/blue pages reinforce that this book is for every child.

Though the story comes to an abrupt halt, the Yiddish glossary at the back makes it accessible to all families looking to highlight their own culture or steep in the diversity of others.

I can't believe how good this series is. I never thought of teaching about famous people whilst sharing these kinds of ideas. I mean, lots of picture-books are about the idea that girls and boys and everyone should just be who they are, and everyone should be kind and respectful to everyone else, but to attach [a:Simone de Beauvoir|5548|Simone de Beauvoir|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1555042345p2/5548.jpg] to a board book, well, that's brilliant.
This book makes me think of a stereotypical Jewish grandma who is very excited to see their grandbaby. There are words in here the give reason for the glossary in the back, which is part of what makes me think Jewish grandma. This was just fun. That baby talk, happy to see them, their tummy, type of book. The illustrations are really fun. The catalog page tells how the book was illustrated, probably to stave off any idea this might be AI. I think this book was beautiful and fun and something show more kids would love to hear having read to them. show less
Come on! This book is the cutest thing ever. The grandma you just want to hug; the baby you just want to squeeze; the Yiddish words that make you turn into that Grandma as you read the book. Loved every minute of this book!
