The novel is a testimony to the strength of love and how far we will go to protect those we love. It's supernatural story of one woman's will and determination to live against all odds and obstacles. Ana BuFaye is being pursued by evil forces and evil people seeking to kill her and she does not know why? People totally unknown to her constantly creates life-threatening situations seemingly to her with no real rhyme or reason. But there's one. She doesn't know about it yet. Everyone who show more assist her escape those trying to kill her lose their lives. The dark forces have networks everywhere. That's the scary part of the book. She never know who is watching and reporting. She doesn't know who she can trust and who is a foe. Everyone is potential a foe. It's a lot a spy novel but the agents are from hell.
It's an action packed, thriller with witty comebacks and quips. I think the author did a superb job of harmonious sewing together a rather complex story into an easy to read one. show less

It's a Southern Gothic story of how often the past refuses to die and stay dead. Ana BuFaye troubles starts at a very young age. From birth she's haunted by dark forces of the past. She and her family works together to learn why the child is being plagued. It's an exciting, riveting novel of how the past can reach into the future. It an allegory of: Although, people having forgotten the past doesn't mean the past have forgotten you.

I was impressed with the Fowler's English used in this book. Not many can write an entire book in this dying but flourish language. They may use segments of the language to make a quote but I haven't seen one published since the 1940's written entirely in Fowler's English which was popular in the Edwardian Age. show less

A very intriguing story with a unique twist on an ancient legend about trolls.
