From page one I was immediately gripped with Finn. Here he is baring what little soul he feels he has with his utmost hatred for having to do it that you feel bad for him and want to know everything there is about this guy. Finn can come off as heartless, soulless, and cruel yet a times you may see a tiny glimpse of something that may give you a tiny sliver of hope for him. When Diamond comes to work for his dad he is utterly horrible. Finn makes it his mission to not only get her to quit show more but to humiliate her as well. With secrets, lies and so much more lurking around these two butt heads and fight like no other but their chemistry is off the charts. Can Diamond help Fin find himself and see he deserves so much more than he thinks or will it all crumble down on them? I don’t want to give anything away because this was a great book and emotional to enjoy but the ending left me breathless wondering what will happen next for these two? I feel in love with Xavier in book one and knew that Finn’s story would be a little darker and very emotional but it was so worth the ride and I can’t wait for what is in store for us next. show less
The angst in this one will absolutely break your heart and craving to see if the characters can overcome all the obstacles that stand in their way, including themselves. Kane Wilder is America’s heartthrob, cocky bad boy that has taken a tumble in the public eye and in need of redemption, but he didn’t use to be that way,to Hadley he was just the guy that stole her heart then shattered it. Hadley and Kane grew up together, spending summer vacation’s together, and as her twin show more brother’s best friend he was always around. Hadley’s crush on Kane started when she was 14 and years later when their paths cross the animosity she still has towards him is still there and she no longer sees the boy that stole her heart she only sees this guy who is broken and cruel, but what she can’t see is the love he has always carried for her. This was such an emotional ride that at times you were cheering them on because it seemed as if they’ve worked things out only to want to shake them for letting their insecurities hold them back. My heart broke for Kane and all that he held on to for years that slowly drug him down and even if what he done was wrong he definitely takes a huge step in redeeming himself in many ways. show less
Xavier and Aveena have known each other for a long time, yet Aveena is so used to blending in that she is almost invisible and has distanced herself away from the in crowd. They both come from a background where those who are supposed to love and care for them the most are the ones that take advantage and manipulate them the most. They both suffer and hurt in ways that is heartbreaking that I felt so bad for both so many times throughout the book. One mistaken letter hidden in the pages of a show more poetry book that leads to undeniable chemistry, mystery, and pen pals that creates a bond between these two that is hard to deny starts it all. Vee aka Aveena has always been the disappointment to her mother so she is always is living in the shadows doing what her mother tells her to do constantly and is berated for being different and Xavier finds himself in a difficult situation because he doesn’t know where to turn or what to do this leads to the anonymous letters becoming a haven for them to commiserate together. As their bond forms and becomes more they know it is inevitable before they discover who the other is and this leads to a lot of drama in the form of family, friends, peer pressure, and crazy exes. These two are meant to be together but does fate have different plans for them? Can they fight for each other or be doomed to succumb to other’s wills? Will they be there for each other in the end or risk it all to save face? This is a new to me author and I loved the way she created an angst filled book but let us see deep into the hearts of the main characters and I want to read more!!! show less
