Merrill Wagner

A project that takes a wry look at the longevity of a certain selection of pigmented art materials. Between 1983 and 1990, painter Merrill Wagner applied swatches of red, yellow and blue paints and pastels on the untreated Cedar wood fence outside her studio, then photographed the sections regularly. The images in the book document the quiet corrosion and endurance of art.
