My Opinion: Wow!! Just wow!! Since this is one of my favorite series, I was really nervous about reading the final installment: Would it live up to my expectations or would I be left wanting? Alas, I shouldn't have worried - I should have realized that the most awesome Ms. Melissa Darnell would make sure that I was not disappointed since she had not disappointed me yet! Consume was such a satisfying conclusion to The Clann series, answering all of my questions and giving Sav and Tristan the show more perfect send off.
As usual, the pacing of the story was spot on, and the characters, especially Tristan, grew in leaps and bounds. Seriously, Tristan had to deal with so many major issues in Consume that I'm surprised he didn't go completely bat shit crazy by the end of it! Savannah continues to be one of my favorite characters, and I loved how she never lost faith in Tristan or their love, even when they were on opposite sides of an issue. There were a lot of crazy twists and turns to the story, and all of the major players were back, including Sav's friends and family.
There's so much I want to say about Consume but I would be giving too much away if I did, so I'm just going to say that I absolutely loved it and will definitely miss these characters whom I have grown to love and look forward to reading about. I'm giving Consume a glowing 5 stars and highly recommend this series to lovers of YA fantasy everywhere :D
I received a copy of this book free of charge from NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion. show less

The first time I read this book, I absolutely loved it. The second time.. Not so much. Actually, not at all. I hated it. I hate this book. I hate this book with a fiery burning passion. Savannah is a simpering idiot, and the entire time I wanted to push her off a cliff, or punch her, or any of the other god-awful things that popped into my head every time she opened her mouth. Don't do it. Like I know there are probably people (like me) out there that see a bad review and kind of go show more "Challenge Accepted," but don't do that with this book. It was 400 pages of pure nonsense.
The entire book, Savannah was in denial about SOMETHING like, there really wasn't a time when everything was all chill, and when she SHOULD have been freaking out, she was just kind of like "Apshh it's whatevs, I'm gonna go make out with my forbidden boyfriend and ignore all the weird sketch things that are happening around us." Seriously? UAIFAPFIDAJN I mean if you "gaze daze" a guy, and he turns all obsessive and creepy, wouldn't you know better than to do it again? Apparently Savannah doesn't. Her reasoning? "Maybe if I do it enough in small increments, he'll become immune!OMG genius idea!" What the hell? I mean, don't get me wrong, Tristan has his moments of extreme stupidity too, He knows Savannah sucks all of the energy out of him through kisses (he needs energy because.. well, it's what keeps humans alive in this book. It's essentially their life force, so by taking his energy, she's killing him slowly), and he's completely aware that she's a vampire and could possibly drain the blood from his body, but he still kisses her anyways but he's okay other than the whole loving Savannah thing. Which brings me to my next issue. They haven't talked since 4th grade, and he really has no idea what kind of person she is, but he's still "in love" with her. I could rant about that, but I won't because that could take forever.
This book gets lots of angry faces from me. I really don't want to read the next one, but I have this rule for myself that if I start a series, I must finish it. Plus I already bought the book, and I have NO idea where the receipt for it is, so I can't even return it. Oh well, if you read this book just be prepared. Who knows, maybe you'll like it like I did at first. A word of advice, if you liked it the first time, don't read it again. I'm pretty sure part of the reason I hated this book the second time through is because I'm out of high school, and I no longer view love the way I did last year. Basically, I grew as a person and now I hate this book with a burning passion. The end (: show less
