Was this book perfect? No, not in the least. However, the author sucked me in. I found that I wanted to know more about what was going on with Alessandro and Sophia. I enjoyed watching Sophia grow into her strength. Looking forward to the next book.
Thank goodness this was free on KU!! When I began the book, I thought this was going to be something really special......and it "could" have been! I will never, ever understand an author making one of the main characters so uncaring, unfeeling, cold, arrogant while making the other main character SO unforgettable! Like other's here have said....Elena was the ruination of the story. She was too cold, untouchable, arrogant for too long while Kon was too patient, wonderful to her. I started show more skimming about halfway. I just kept hoping she would finally work "with" him instead of against him and I would feel the "love". It just never happened. I absolutely hated the epilogue! I didn't think I could hate Elena more than I already did but I was wrong. She totally robbed Kon of a VERY important event in his life. It was SO unbelievable that she was trying to protect him. He is the "king" of the Bratva and ruthless! show less

Mafia romance is my favorite. This trilogy gave a different view of mafia life. I enjoyed it and was kept engaged in the story. Sophia sure knew how to play the long game.

There were some areas that there were discrepancies but it wasn't enough to stop reading. I would have loved a book about Cat or a follow-up on where she was at. Great epilogue. I'm looking forward to more from this author in the future.

Very compelling book. I enjoyed trying To figure out what was going on. There were moments that I didn't understand the why things were happening or what the motivation was. I did wish for more Kons and Elena interaction s too. The ending seemed off because Kon doesn't seem Luke the type to wait years. However, still it kept my interest and made me want to know more, so, I call that a successful book.
