WINNER OF CLARKESWORLD PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARD 2020 (awarded in 2021)
I admit I was a bit inpatient with all that was unknown to me as the story unfolded but by the end I was in awe. That was really unique!
It has a futuristic concept of being able to remote access a human and you can rent them as an avatar. Being across the globe isn't a limiter. The host prepared for his renter by buying items from a shopping list as directed and cleaned up his kitchen. haha so domestic. The culture of the show more characters which I'm too ignorant to understand fully, was South Asian, Muslim maybe. So some of the words and exactly what they were cooking were lost on me. I'm not complaining, just hoping to peak the interest of others who come by this "review". By the end we know why the 'renter' is cooking what they are cooking and why she chose this particular host.
So much was packed in without being a mess. Science Fiction, lgbt love, domestic bachelor life, wisdom that comes with experience, exposure to a culture a bit different than my own. show less
