A classic picture book featuring a frog wooing a mouse. Strangely the Gutenberg ebook includes two versions of this story, one in verse and one in prose. Perhaps the author was experimenting. I preferred the prose version, but they were both rather lousy.
A gift when I was younger. It's not bad, but it's short and I have all the fables in other editions that I like better. I have the Bennett illustrations in an edition of Aesop from the 30s and they're actually somewhat better in black line art.
I guess I also object to the publisher listing Bennett as the author, when he's really the compiler.

Kinda creepy, really, but fun art.
