So - here it is, the end of this very good series.
What did i like? Some really good characterisations, the future society outside of the game is interesting - however small parts we get to see, the quests were epic, the enemies were good and the friendships even more.
So -why not 5 stars? First of all - i am not a big fan of POV-changes and it has a lot of it. It wasn't Hana's story in the end but the stories of three with each her/his own story arc, that only meet in neuralgic places.
My show more other personal thing is he part with the guns. While that gun bard is an intersting class, in my head Axe swinging, Kendo-Style Katana fights and someone with a magic revolver just don't mix. I would have preferred to read Alysands and Torvens story in an own world. But that is my own view only.
Overall an extremely well written story I enjoyed and hope T.J. Reynolds will continue to bring us new worlds!

The MC is a young lady that enters a VMMORPG to find money not to be pressed into work for the debts of her father.
She starts as a kind of ranger, makes some friends in the NPC community and a few player friends (mostly an amazonian names Madi). She finds the beginnings of a big quest about a rat king, can get a wonderful pet and has some interesting adventure while looking for parts of her legendary katana.
Nice adventure. Enjoyed most of it - even if the dreading money problem seems to show more make me more nervous then her.
Looking forward to more in this series.

3.5/5 not as good as the first but an exciting and distinct story.
Was hard to get back into the story as not much words are used to help a reader back into the storyline if he hadn't read the first book immediatly before.
This time we spend more time with different POV (a feature i am not really a fan of). At least Madi is interesting to follow. I still cannot make my inner peace with a gunslinger in a fantasy setting - so "alice" wont get on my high like list.
The ratkin story keeps show more intersting and a worthy epic quest. show less
Did not finshed therefore no rating.
Man without magic talent in a magical army gets tainted with "bad" magic and therefore be banned on an island where he will become the first disciple of a goddess.
I really like the other books of this author but this wasn't for me. The whole story drags along. The goddess gots on my nerves very fast. Maybe the dialogues were ment to be funny - well not my kind of humor.
