Giving what the title promises, this is a hefty coffee table book with an encyclopedia of interview-based writeups on creative directors within fashion, publishing, and entertainment. There are also short vignettes on big names that have passed away, both recently and from the last century. I expected shiny surface-level vision ideas, when in reality the author put real thought into getting practical notes on how creativity goes from the mind to the page, or runway, or film. So you can show more actually use this book! My only gripe would be that this could have been slimmed and made into more than one edition, to reduce the overwhelming nature of so many names and stories. show less

I have never wanted to punch a cookbook in the teeth so much as I did this cookbook. Pretentious doesn't EVEN begin to cover it. Boring, pedestrian, precious...ugh, I need something to clean this off my brain. I've been wondering about the magazine Kinfolk, but after this introduction, I wonder no more. Hipsters who take themselves WA-HAY too seriously? No thanks, I'm good.

Interesting and simple recipes. I need to check out Kinfolk Tables other publications.
