Lupe Mendez

Mendez delivers passionate poems of the Mexican-American experience chronicling the tragedies of everyday life and of extraordinary events, natural and manmade told in English ubiquitously spiced with phrases and whole poems in Spanish. The subjects range from childbirth, miscarriages, miscarriages of justice, alas, all too common along the Gulf Coast, missing persons, missing children, life as an only child, and of course, love and its occasional discontents and attendant bitterness.
