This play is set at a crucial moment in former prime minister Joe Clark’s career: the budget vote where his minority government could be toppled through non-confidence. Does he use parliamentary procedure to live another day, or does he attempt to brazen it out?

As a glimpse into history, this was an interesting read. I’m not sure how it would work as a stage production, though, because there are a lot of projected surtitles in the script. Nevertheless, I’d like to learn more about the show more period from a biography or other non-fiction book. show less
