Mike Pannett

I enjoyed this library book which is the first I have read by this author. The author served as a police officer in rural England. He documents some of his experiences both on the beat and in his personal life.

The author is a good writer and easy to read. I wasn't sure whether the pace would be quick enough to hold my interest at first but I found that the style grew on me and I reached the end without counting the remaining pages!

I would read another book by this author if it wasn't for show more the bad language used throughout. The author has bleeped the use of some of the stronger words but the rest are still there and prevalent. As a Christian reader I struggled with this, hence the rating which would've been higher.

For me this was a wonderful read. My father was a Yorkshire lad and reading Mike Pannett's stories was a bit like listening to Dad. The book is easy to read, has a very conversational style and I hope I find there are other titles by this likeable Bobby.
