1256. The Bewitched Parsonage: The Story of the Brontes, by William Stanley Braithwaite (23 Dec 1973) This is a rather light and popular account of the Brontes, but it does a good job in capturing the wonder of the family. I was struck by Emily's prowess as a poet, and even copied a couple of striking stanzas into my journal, but will spare you quoting such. I felt I should read Charlotte's other books: The Professor, Shirley, and Villette. I finally did read Shirley on July 13, 1981, and show more Villette on 31 July 1981, but never have read The Professor. show less
