This book took me a while to get through, because I really wanted to like it. There were some really wonderful lines, some surprising images, and some incredibly deft moments in the translation. Dropped articles saved potentially cliched images, the taut lines created a rhythmic stability and structure to the sequence. But on the whole I found the work a bit tiresome.
