Jean Martin (16) (1947–)

Jean Martin was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and attended Glasgow School of Art where she studied Drawing and Painting. While there she won a scholarship to Hospitalfield School of Art and a number of prizes, including the final year Drawing Prize. Jean then undertook post-graduate teacher training show more in Aberdeen and taught in Secondary schools for a few years. In 1995, Jean began teaching drawing and painting on a part-time basis in Dundee College and has taught watercolor workshops and summer schools in Dundee and Edinburgh. She has also tutored study and painting trips in Scotland, England and various destinations in Europe. Since 1979, Jean has had a number of solo and shared exhibitions throughout Britain, in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen and London. She has won several prizes throughout her career and exhibits annually with the Royal Society of Watercolour Painters.
