Ian Dyck (PhD, University of Alberta, 1976) worked as archaeologist, curator and program manager at the Saskatchewan Museum of Natural History (now the Royal Saskatchewan Museum) and later at the National Museum of Man (subsequently the Canadian Museum of Civilization and now the Canadian Museum of show more History) until his retirement in 2010. His long fascination with prairies archaeology embraces not only what archaeology has produced, but how the archaeology came about. His studies have included examinations of ancient prairie campsites and river crossings, comparison of Canadian Prairies and Eurasian Steppes archaeology, historical overviews of Canadian Prairies archaeology, editing the mid-nineteenth century journal of Geological Survey of Canada founder, Sir William Logan, and hasty of the National Museums of Canada. show less
