I don't think anyone will be surprised by the warm and fuzzy ending to this sweet and slow-paced romance. It gives the audience what they want, though maybe with twice the number of volumes necessary.
Oops. I wasn't paying attention and read this out of order because my local library somehow got Vol. 4 into circulation before Vol. 3. Maybe that's why I suddenly found this series boring?
The main couple is de facto dating now after officially admitting they are friends. There is no conflict or tension. It's cute, yeah, but I'm not sure how this just keeps ambling along for another seven plus volumes with this rate of diminishing returns.
Not that I'm going to stop reading yet, mind you . . .

Treading water in the cutest way possible.
And Junta Shiraishi's role in the haunted house his class is putting on for a school festival is perhaps the best use of his power to fade into the background in the whole series.
It looks like there are only two volumes left in the series, so I assume there will be some major breakthroughs in the sloooooowly evolving status quo very soon. And yeah, I'll admit I'm about ready to be done with this.

Oops! My library received the volumes out of order and I've accidentally read the next three in this series already. Time to backtrack.
A cute push through the Japanese romance tropes covers taking care of someone with a cold, sharing bento lunches, saying first names, cooking for someone, and cherry-blossom viewing with a picnic. The episodes go a little overboard in featuring the female lead's adoring cousin, but it's still a fine outing for warm and fuzzy feels from tentative and innocent show more romance. show less
