Dull Margaret by Jim Broadbent
I passed this over multiple times on the new graphic novel shelf at the library because I just knew from the cover that I wouldn't like it. But then I found myself with ten minutes to kill and, well, it was just sitting there.

Wish I'd left it there, because it pretty much lives up to its title. Margaret is a dull and lonely woman who catches eels in fish traps and sells them for a living. She also dabbles in witchcraft and casts a spell to bring her friendship and wealth. And we all know how show more wish stories turn out.

The art is just kind of gross and the colors are dark and murky. show less
