Fascinating story of one of jungle's most powerful medicines
When I have read, more than thirteen years ago, Peter Gorman's previous book - Ayahuasca in my blood - it took me three days to finish it. I was captivated by the stories that seemed so unreal and magical to me at the time and little did I know that soon I will enter that world myself. By experiencing Amazon first hand I was now absolutely sure that Peter's stories are very real. He writes with ease about his adventures in deep show more jungle, about the magnificent forest and its inhabitants of plant, animal and human kind not just as an adventurer and direct participant but also as a keen observer. His new book was long time coming and it was very well worth the wait, it is a little gem. Through the book's pages you will be transported to the magnificent forest with Peter as your guide. There is hardly a better person to guide you there and teach you about Sapo - one of the jungle's most fascinating medicines. You will learn about Matses, the people who have been using its powers for very long time. You will learn about the frog that is the provider of the medicine. And you will learn about the many positive effects it has on human body and spirit. Most of all you will find out the story behind this medicine's journey from the depths of the Amazon into the Western awareness. I have thoroughly enjoyed this journey and I am quite positive you will too. Thank you, Peter! show less
