Found this really encouraging, pointing to Christ as the source of all parenting, really good expose on pitfalls of gentle parenting near the end. Convicting.
I found a lot of valuable information, and I love that she continuously points you back to scripture, giving actual verses, for any guidance. The second half of the book got a little bit petty to me. Citing moms who are doing it wrong and leaning into mediocre mothering while explaining that she has ten kids and a business and is still able to do it all. Definitely worth the read for great scripture to cling to and encouragement in using gentle words, but take it with a grain of salt. We show more strive for Christ-like attitudes in motherhood, but we are human, and by definition, that means we often fail.

On finding wisdom on being a mother in scripture:

“When we approach it with the same air of studiousness that we would any other profession at which we want to excel, we exponentially increase the likelihood of us not only surviving, but thriving in a household of peace instead of chaos.”

I really enjoyed reading this book. She helps put things into perspective and all through a biblical lens. I appreciate her writing style and think that the layout of the books is just wonderful. I’ll probably read it or at least skim through certain sections it again for years to come.
