Bacon's Large Scale Atlas of London and Suburbs 1912 is reproduced at nearly full size. It contains maps of seven Home Counties, thirteen Special Maps (such as the Port of London, Postal Districts, Steam Railways, Underground Railway System, Omnibus and Tram Routes and Boroughs, Parliamentary Divisions and utilities, police, the courts and workhouses (unions)) as well as thirty-three "four-inch scale maps" with forty-four pages of "streets, roads, squares, railway stations, public buildings show more etc" in the index to those maps. The area and population (1911) of each Borough, Rural District and Urban District is given in a table which covers London and the Home Counties. It is, altogether, a beautifully produced facsimile which will give anyone interested in London, its history and, of course, maps, endless pleasure. show less
