Nothing flashy; just a decent little reading where Kirsch figures Aureng-Zebe as kind of an inside-out Antony (in Antony and Cleopatra, a virtuous hero whose only downfall is his too too passionate love for his lady, but who lets the love impel him into violent action unwisely rather than divert him from it disastrously like Antony. Also a bit of talk about how Dryden thought couplets were the best form of poetry because he was good at them. ELH 29/2.
