"My Thoughts.....

What a very captivating read that took place many years ago that will keep your attention all the way to the end. Be ready for a lots of emotions presented in this read from 'pain, tears, sorrow, drama, heartbreaking, evilness, and even a little laughter and joy. The reader will really get caught up in show more this southern historical read that deals with the post slavery period in American in all of what this mother had to go through. I will say this is one of those stories that once you pick up this read you will see how well this author brings it out so very well for the readers. Truly growing up as Georgie did in Southern Virginia was quite a good tale of a story. I don't want to spoil it other than say will Georgie find the love and happiness that she longed for as 'she dreamed of a better life?' There were some characters that were very well developed, defined, portrayed and even believable giving you one amazing good read. Well, to find out what all has gone on you will have to pick up "Struggles of the Women Folk which was the first of three stories. So, yes there is more of this story coming...'Tethered Angel.' show less

"A Life Not My Own" by T. M. Brown

My Thoughts....

What a story this was of this author's life from her childhood thru adulthood where abusiveness was received from her own mother and boyfriend.

A lots of the story wasn't a pretty one but by the end I believe the reader will be able to see how this author becomes quite a inspiration for all seeing how strong she became the person she is show more today that truly give us a good read.

I enjoyed how this read showed us just how this author got to where she is today definitely overcoming quite a bit from a rough journey. I do believe by Ms. Brown joining the military did help her in having her own career that did help her in a lots of her decisions that were made in her life.

I also liked the 'inspirational lines' they were there in the story...
"I have experienced the heartache, disappointment, tragedy, and confusion that are all a part of living. But I am confident that I can deal with anything that is ahead of me. For my life is not my own. I am sure of that."

To get more of this true story you will have to pick up "A Life Not My Own" and just see for yourself how well written her story is presented. Well done to the author!

"Tethered Angel" by T. M. Brown

My Thoughts....

A very touching story...of Angel young black girl in the 50's who was the daughter of 'Georgie and Donnie' that endured quite a bit from the hands of Miss Emily Baker. I will say that lady definitely made Angel's abduction so very captivating giving the read a very interesting read. As Angel is drawn into Miss Emily manipulation, craziness and show more strangeness and let's not leave out that hold she had on Ricky. Will Angel make it back to her mom Georgie before it is too late? In the end I liked how this author brings it all together and I will stop here and say to get the whole story the reader will have to pick up this well written read with a good storyline to see what all happens in the end. show less
The author has done an amazing job in sharing her journey. With each colorful scene, it was easy to relive the life they walked. As the story unfolded, it put me in the moment. I could clearly see Tina and Mark scrambling each day to survive, even those who stepped up to embrace their needs. "A Life Not My Own" is such a breathtaking and heartwarming tale. It tells a story that makes one want to reach out to give them the "love" and "nurturing" of a parent. It is not easy to put this one show more down. As I flipped through the pages, I wanted to continue reading just to learn more and more about their struggle. To be hungry as a child and have to fend for yourself as adult (in those child-like years), can be ohhh sooo painful and heartbreaking. Our children were not put on this earth to go it alone.
And that's just what this one is A HEARTBREAKER. What a well-written and remarkable story! Kudos, to the Author.
