I might have just given this book 4 stars, but then I read the other reviews. Yes, B is for Big Bang and D is for Dinosaurs. Yes, this book is based on SCIENCE! There are plenty of religious books out there. This is not one of them. As an agnostic parent raising my children with a strong scientific background, free of religious propaganda, I like this book.

The illustrations are detailed and realistic. I especially like how there's a four line poem for each letter and then further show more information on the side, so that this book can be tailored for the audience depending on age, interest, time, etc. show less
This would be a good book to use for a 3rd, 4th or 5th grade class and it could help introduce students to the topic of space, planets and our solar system. It provides a little rhyme about each thing the letters of the alphabet represent in the book, but it also has a section of information on each page - going into depth about what the letter stands for.
