Matthew Candelaria

Matthew Candelaria received his doctorate from the University of Kansas in 2006. He is interested in biopoetics (evolutionary aesthetics), monsters, and science fiction, in addition to vermin. His most recent scholarly publications are Reading Science Fiction, co-edited with James Gunn and Marleen Barr, and “Vast and Cool and Unsympathetic: From The Descent of Man to ‘Empire of the Ants,’” in Enemies of Humanity: The Nineteenth-Century War on Terror, edited by Isaac Land.
