Cultivating the Genius of Black Children: Strategies to Close the Achievement Gap in the Early Years by Debra Ren-Etta Sullivan
I heard the author speak at a professional training and was inspired to pick up her book. There is a lot of valuable information that helped me understand how to better meet different learning styles in my library and be aware of the cultural norms of black children. Highly recommended for teachers of preschool and early elementary and any professionals working with black children. But to note, the author stresses that by reaching black children more effectively, you reach all children.
