Purvi Shah

Purvi Shah inspires change as a nonprofit consultant and writer. She won the inaugural SONY South Asian Social Service Excellence Award for her leadership fighting violence against women. During the tenth anniversary of 9/1 1, she directed Kundiman's "Together We Are New York," a community-based show more poetry project to highlight Asian American voices and experiences. Her first poetry collection, Terrain Tracks, won the Many Voices Project prize. She currently serves as a board member of The Poetry Project in New York City. Her favorite art practices are her sparkly eyeshadow and raucous laughter. show less
