Certainly one of the great titles of all time. Can it possibly do it justice?

Absolutely not. This slow-moving bore looks like a Made-for-TV movie (if you're old enough to remember those--and not a good one.) Much of the fault lies with lead actress Lampert--the Jessica of the title, whose performance is lackluster, and whose appearance is not done any favors by the costume designer (if there was one). The rest of the cast again, are sort of mediocre, and the script makes no sense whatsoever, show more although there are explanations online, and the author credit to LeFanu is a clue. But in any case, don't waste your time. The only good thing about the film is the nice Connecticutt locations. show less
