If I were locked up in an isolated cell with my guitar or at that, just my imagination. This book of instruction would be by far at the top of my list of things I would gladly smuggle in with me, one way or the other. Even though I've had this book for a year or two, it was only recently ( 5 months ago) that I looked through it and could really grasp it's importance. A definate must have for even the slightest music theory junky. Seriously.
As is usual with Mel Bay's production line, the instructions are simple but adequate, the diagrams are easy to read, and the music selection is of simple tunes, most of which used to be familiar to the general public but may not be known by younger folks these days, unless they are fond of the county-folk scene.
Ridiculous collection of exercises of "complex" chords. Work on harmonizing your vocals with the guitar with major and minor chord progressions instead.
Just ok. Wouldn't purchase if I had seen all the free 'lessons' on YouTube.
