Keary, Charles Francis (nephew) - Short biography
- Eliza Keary was born in Yorkshire, England, a daughter of William Keary, an Irish clergyman and former army chaplain, and his wife Lucy Plumer of Bilton Hall. Her older sister Annie also became a writer and the two collaborated on three books for children, including The Heroes of Asgard (1857). They were befriended by the novelist Charles Kingsley and his family. She also wrote a memoir of her sister Annie and published poetry that has lately received some attention from feminist scholars.
