The late Benjamin T. Wright's history of the U.S. Figure Skating Association may have been written in the 90s, but even decades later it still stands as the definitive history book for all things American figure skating. So many skating books tend to water things down so that they'll have market appeal. This book goes in the completely opposite direction. It sticks to the facts and figures, which I personally appreciate much more than any coffee-table book full of glossy photos. An show more absolutely wonderful and trustworthy resource for anyone with an interest in figure skating history. show less
This was a beautiful book in almost mint condition when I picked this up in a used bookstore in Raleigh. I am an avid follower of figure skating as my sister trained at the Boston Figure Skating Club. I am writing this in December 2021 looking forward to the 2020 Olympics on television.

One of two books that anyone truly interested in American figure skating history should have in their collection. The other, of course, being Benjamin T. Wright's "Skating in America".
This DVD, produced by US Figure Skating and narrated by Sandy Lamb, longtime Special Olympics Figure Skating coordinator, demonstrates the skills in each badge-level of the USFSA Special Olympics Learn to Skate program.
