A. B. Frost was one of the early great illustrators, comic and graphic artists. This is a collection of his comic tales for children, essentially illustrated gag stories. They are earthy, with a rougher sensibility toward blacks typical of the times (roughly the 1890s), and often imbued with a bucolic humor that must have charmed and amused his rural readers. And always, there is Frost's wonderfully delineated artwork, among the best in his field.
Totally enjoyed this book, knowing a bit of Norse mythology dose make the book a bit more enjoyable but you still can read it and know who is who with out that knowledge. Looking forward to read more of her work.
