A repackaging of the excellent ‘Huntress: Cry For Blood’ mini-series from 2000 under a new Birds of Prey movie tie-in cover. It’s been a while since I last read this story and this new collection reminded me of just how good it is. If you only ever read one Huntress story, then this is the one - a perfect examination of Helena Bertinelli’s family history, her motivations, psychology, and inner conflicts.
Can I rate a book lower than one star? No? Damn you, Goodreads.
This is supposedly the end of this series (though, there's a postscript where Collins threatens prequels and such), but it's definitely the end for me.
Yes, it was a good decision to return to the graphic novel form. But, with basically a lousy story and stiff, unremarkable art, it was a bad decision to publish this travesty.
Yeah, we had to know this was coming, but overall, I was incredibly bored for the 180 pages I wasted my show more time reading here. And, as per usual, Collins sets up a major sub-plot (Michael Jr's romance with the mob-boss daughter), and then just leaves it completely hanging.
