Thumbelina is a bilingual book. It is about a woman who wants a child but can't so she grows a plant that Thumbelina grows out of. Then a toad steals her away to marry her son. All throughout the story different creatures find her beautiful and want to keep her. She is always kind and helpful to everyone and eventually her bird friend saves her and she meets the prince of the flowers. I picked it because I always loved watching the movie Thumbelina when I was a kid. This book generally show more follows the story premise from the movie but is kind of simplified and different. I prefer the story that is in the movie, it is a little more interesting. I felt that this version lacked a plot and I really did not like how she never got back to her mother. show less
