Four decades before the *Own Voices* movement there was this, a collection of preserved oral traditions from the Rama Ojibway Band of Canada, provocatively illustrated by a self-taught Ojibway man. A lucky find in Rolla, MO's city library. I'm a bit surprised I wasn't made familiar with it when I was in university to be a teacher in Wisconsin. If your library has it, do not let them cull it!

Tbh, I did not read every story... I'm just into creation myths, from any culture. But I did enjoy show more every illustration, and did sample the text enough to know that it feels both accessible and authentic.
