A classic Red Sonja tale. Love it. Don't love the style of some of the headshots, because I think the faces look skewed, but the story's fun.

Conan: Throne of Aquilonia by Roy Thomas, Mike Hawthorne et al. is another well written and stunningly illustrated Conan graphic novel from Dark Horse Books. Volume 12 of the series joins Conan on the Road of Kings where he is recruited and manipulated to become part of a plot to remove and replace the King of Aquilonia. Of course the plan doesn’t work out as expected and Conan finds himself in a life-or-death fight against zombies and monster insects in the catacombs. Later, he is forced show more into battle against numerous swordsmen in a port city. I liked this volume of the series very much. Roy Thomas (the original writer of Conan in comics) provides a very interesting story with plenty of death-defying action and his ruthless Conan character is true to Robert E. Howard’s barbarian. In addition, the magical artistic contributions of Mike Hawthorne, Dan Panosian, John Lucas and Dan Jackson brought the barbarian and this story to life. show less
Good story, but loses a star for ending abruptly without tying up any loose ends. Basically this book was written as if there would be another volume and was cut off mid-story.
