Excellent for residents of Henry Kendall Gardens in Wyoming NSW and others interested in retirement. A unique history of this excellent retirement village, which I believe, is the largest in NSW and the largest village in the large Lend Lease Australia wide chain of villages.
Having lived in the village for a little over a year, I can confirm that the sub-title "JUST LIKE AN EXTENDED FAMILY" is a good description of life in the village. As in life, nothing is perfect and tasks are often very show more difficult but the village gives evidence of great efforts by both residents and management to create a great lifestyle. This book gives residents' experiences during the development up to the time of publication (2007) and in numerous ways, living at the village is indeed just like an extended family along with unlimited possibilities of keeping in touch with actual genetic extended family and the wider community.
Unfortunately the book is out of print but copies can no doubt be obtained through inter-library loan if one is patient. The Gosford (NSW) Library has two copies, one of which is reserved for use in the library.
The book has inspired others to seek ways of updating the history. A later edition would be great but at 2016, there seems to be only a little progress. show less
