Connecteness is full of really great portions that speak to the themes of the anthropocene from many different angles. Especially great is Jeff Vandermeer's essay Earthlings with accompanying photographs, also by Jeff, is excellent. Earthlings is a poetic and earnest piece that seeks to confront the reader with life that is astoundingly not-human. Other earthlings that we increasingly treat as if they were intruders, aliens, but are in fact, obviously, fellow earthlings. A spellbinding read show more and over the summer of 2020 had the opportunity to hear Vandermeer read a portion of it was astounding.
A great book and made better with the inclusion of Vandermeer. show less
