Short biography
Lizza Aiken is a British actor and writer. Born as Elizabeth Delano Charlaff in Tonbridge, Kent in 1951, she is the daughter of celebrated children's author and novelist Joan Aiken, and is the curator of her mother's literary estate and website. She studied in Paris with master teachers Etienne Decroux and Jacques LeCoq to become a mime, and toured with fringe theater groups, appearing in international festivals all over Europe in the 1970s and ’80s, before settling in Highgate, London. She co-wrote a few Arabel and Mortimer stories with her mother, has written introductions and afterwords for a number of new editions, and has narrated a number of Joan Aiken's books.
