I don’t have a lot to say about this, except that it was supremely disappointing. Dr. Simms’ expertise is public health – not government – and consequently, it is of little surprise that the book has almost no substantive discussion of the subject in the title. Rather, it is better described as an inventory of the assorted inequities that exist within human society, an explanation for their causes, and how divisive leaders can leverage those to win and retain power.
