Biblical Thoughts for Troubled Souls

I appreciate Dr Berg’s approach. Simple, concise and to the point. That point being thinking Biblical. Biblical thought seems to be the goal of the author’s writing. Shallow emotional comfort has no room in this book. Thinking like Christ takes center stage.

Enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone who is serious about dealing with their troubles in a Christ-like way.
Though I don't agree with Jim Berg about many things, there is a lot of wisdom and good teaching in this book if you can look past its didactic delivery. I found it most helpful in examining my thought life and how my establish patterns of negative or ungrateful thinking can have a derailing impact on my mood.

In a lot of ways the teaching felt abbreviated and he more than once plugged his "comprehensive counselling system" but it's a good jumping off point for those plagued by anxieties, show more persistent worry, or unsettled thoughts. show less
4.5 Stars - I would have liked this to have been a little more comprehensive, but it is still an excellent guide on trusting God during difficult times and making the right choices that can be read in one sitting.
Through clear biblical teaching and practical examples, Jim Berg teaches you how to build an intimate and satisfying relationship with God--the "missing piece" in the experience of many believers. Discover for yourself the stability and joy of experiencing God's Plan for Transforming Your Life.
