No roads to follow, Kayaking the Great Lakes Solo by Michael Herman is a well written, under-stated story of a 127 day fund raising kayak trip for the Canadian Cancer Society. Mr. Herman tells us his remarkable story in an unpretentious and humble manner. The trip is only occasionally through wilderness areas, but is worth reading nonetheless.
