Nancy Curry

In this book a group of kindergartens go on a picnic for the day with their teacher. Each of the children is excited about getting away from the school to go and have the picnic because it is such a nice day to be outside. They all enjoyed their adventure and had fun eating outside and playing with their friends and other classmates.

I really enjoyed this book because it demonstrated how children learn from things as simple as a school picnic with their teacher. Also, it gave them the chance show more to get away from the normal classroom environment and experience something different.

I would incorporate what I read in this book into a classroom of my own by maybe taking my class to a park one afternoon for an outdoor picnic. Also, I would get my students involved by getting them to make a list of possible things we might need for our picnic. Also, I would let them help in packing the picnic basket for our big adventure. show less
