James Stevens is the new pastor of Latta Baptist Church, Pee Dee Baptist Association. Previously, he was pastor of Welcome Baptist Church, Laurens. Other pastorates include Pineview Baptist Church, Kershaw, and Mitford Baptist Church, Great Falls, where he was ordained to the ministry in 1999. Stevens was evangelism director for Moriah Baptist Association and served as chaplain at the Laurens County Speedway. He is a graduate of Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute, Wingate University, and North Greenville University, and is currently enrolled for online studies at Liberty University. Stevens published The Seven Dwelling Places of God in the Bible. Stevens' hometown is Lancaster. He and his wife Misty have four children: Brittany, John, Cailin and Gatlin.
