Steve James (James Steven's is a pseudonym) I was born in a tiny cottage in South Wales next to a chapel with the illustrious name of Bethlehem. Don't get excited, according to my parents there was no Star in the East. No Wise Men and certainly no Virgin Birth. Coming from a strict Methodist background, it's hardly surprising that my formative years were shaped by the Bible. And then suddenly, at the tender age of sixteen, I joined the Royal Air Force. During those years, most of which were spent serving overseas, I was given a completely new perspective on life. Later, on the advice of my commanding officer, Squadron Leader King, who eventually became the tactical advisor for the Saudi Arabian Air Force, I turned my attention to education. After thirty four years of teaching religious studies, I retired and became an author. I'm often asked why I chose to go down this route. The answer is straightforward. Most people want to write for one of three reasons. The first is for fame, the second for financial gain and the third, because they want to express themselves. I come under the third category. I have no illusions of becoming rich and famous, but I do have so many ideas floating around my head that sometimes it drives me crazy. Suddenly, in the middle of the night I get an idea for a new book and come what may, I have to write it down. In that respect it's not different from teaching. And yes, my wife hates it. After every book, she looks at me and says - "Now that's the last, isn't it?" Hard as it is to believe, each of my novels contain a kernel of truth, a trend I intend to continue. To my surprise, all three, The Judas Codex, Satan's Alternative and The Fourth Horseman, have gone on to become best sellers. The fourth book, Children of the Gods will be available to download in June, while the fifth should be ready for Christmas 2014.
