A book that draws on the author's considerable experience in this area. It is written from the point of view of a professional in a very specialist field. As such, on the surface readers might consider it not to be the book for them; after all, this man is still using film! Well, just because digital photography is so widespread, that doesn't mean that the preceding 175 years of photographic know-how can be discarded; and for the sort of photography that Lowe does, large-format film is still show more dominant. (Switching to the equivalent digital technology would cost around £36k for the first camera alone, and then carry on from there...)

And in fact, Lowe does not forget that amateur photographers like taking pictures of buildings that catch their eye, and so he does not forget to address their needs as well. So recommended to everyone with even a slight interest in the subject (as long as you can cope with the almost total lack of proof-reading or subbing...)

Lots of great information but really needs a good edit. If you get caught up with mispelled words, poor grammer, and errant spaces, this is not the book for you. If you can overlook these errors, you can definitely learn a lot about architectural photography from Lowe's vast experience.
